Cryogenic Regeneration Material

Scientific Alloys 95Pb 5Sb precision spheres, sometimes referred to as “lead shot,” are used for heat exchange during oscillating flow within many different types of cryocooler. Our packing media works wonderfully with helium to minimize pressure drop within these cryogenic environments. PbSb precision spheres are an extremely effective heat storage material due to their uniformity in shape and size; also their precise geometrical alignment. We produce a number of standard sizes but can accommodate any custom application, producing spheres .008” +/-.001” (.20 mm +/- .02mm) or lower.
